If you decide to take it apart, document and mark every single step so
you can get it back together properly.

When I've taken apart primes, getting the helical screwed back on
properly is a PITA.  Also, be careful of the grease.  If you wipe off
too much, you may have problems with smooth turning the barrel when it
is reassembled.  And do not put any oil or grease on the aperture
blades.  They are designed to operate dry, and oil or grease will only
gum them up.
