The Nikon D200 was released onto the market in November 2005. It is the first Nikon body since the F3 that I found myself liking. I'd been shooting with Pentax since the beginning of that year and when my brother bought one of these I was very impressed with it. I remain so, although subsequent models out-perform it handily.
