EVFs will get better as long as early adopters continue to fund the research. It's no different to anything else, like sensors and so on, that were crap to start with, but have continued to improve. EVFs however have a long way to go in my opinion until they're as good as an optical coupled rangefinder, or even a reflex ground glass image.
