It only power zooms if you have the toggle switch in the right (?) position and
if your camera body supports the option. This was my first modern lens (i.e.,
one that supported autofocus etc.), I bought it along with my upgrade from an
ME-Super to a PZ-1p, and I quite liked it. And I found the power zoom handy now
and then but mostly had it switched off.

WHen I first looked at it I didn't know what that little switch was
for... I saw there was a toggle but no clue about it... not sure
what setting ws on it when I took Ashley's photo jsut a bit ago.
