Oh yes, there are a few small colonies here and there, of several different species. Mostly down south. A few weeks back we even had a juvenile emperor penguin show up near Wellington. He's being nursed back to health as he was suffering from the (comparative) heat, and will be released back into the wild later. Christine, we don't often get much snow in Christchurch. What we had the other day is the most in about 15 years. Most of the snow in these parts falls at higher elevations or further south. There's plenty of great skiing if you're into that kind of thing.
