You know I tend to prefer minimal mucking around with images, opting for a what-I-saw-is-what-you-get approach. So it may surprise you that I prefer your filtered Yesteryear version here. Part of that is that the color balance in the traditional looks too cold to me. Overall I think that my preferred image would be the "traditional" with a touch more warmth. But the Yesteryear version is nice on its own. The combination of vignetting plus color changes does an effective job in rendering the look of old slides. So of the two presented, I would take the manipulated version. <begin idle musing> Having said that, I am not sure how one could use such an image. It would be dishonest of course to try and pass something like this off as a rediscovered old photo, so it would need to be presented in a context where the manipulation is self-evident. It might work as one of a series of new images all of which had been Yesteryeared, but I think the trick would quickly become old. As a single print on a wall, maybe. As one in a set of varied images put together as a Portfolio, maybe. <end idle musing> stan -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
