I still prefer the original colour version. In the b&w one the head of the guy behind the children suddenly becomes a prominent factor, sticking above the horizon. The b&w rendering you've chosen is also rather flat and bland, whereas the colour version brings out the lovely colours of the childrens' skin and the girl's dress very nicely.
