Well Avast was free, and I guess you get what you pay for. However with

Peter, do you realize that you may be among the select very few who
although using Windoze may progress from Win2K all the way to Win7
entirely bypassing WinXP? That's something worth checking with the book
of records...
On a more serious note, I think you might find Win7 quite a step up from
Win2K. I know I did.
