I don't know. I think so - I think it's why he was so apologetic.

My companion, on the other hand, had no idea. She said "what would you have done if 
it had been broken? It would be what? £400-, £500-?" When I told her what these 
things cost she was aghast.

Insurance is a wonderful thing. The only downside is if it is an object of equal value but not longer in production. Plus dealing with insurance agents.

some idiot knocked my M8 off a café table today, right onto concrete

made a hell of a noise. As did I. Strangely it doesn't seem to have
affected
it, but I'm going to get it checked anyway. I've never seen anyone so
apologetic though. I, on the other hand, was nearly apoplectic.
