Maybe $2.00 if the outage lasted 24 hours. Probably not even that if
they were able to get service back on for even a few minutes during the
24 hour period.
I'm basing that on the "assumption" that TWC charges about the same
amount per month for road-runner service in NYC as they do in Raleigh,
NC. Figure 1/30 of that part of your monthly cable bill that actually
pays for the service, not including fees or taxes. You could claim 1/30
of the bill as a rebate for each cumulative period of 24 hours service
interruption ... 48 hours = 2/30, 72 hours = 3/30 (1/10) ...
One thing is you have to ask for a refund from your bill. They won't do
it automatically. They may not do it anyway even if service was out for
more than 24 hours straight. Depends on what TWC's contract with the
local jurisdiction says.
I don't let such service outages upset me that much, because I know when
it happens that some poor schmuck is out there in that storm trying to
fix whatever broke. He's doing the best he can to get the service back
on as quickly as possible.
