I've shown these before on list, but it's been a  few years.

A friend visited me recently and I took him around for a day  and night of
photography. He used to live in this area, but moved before this  happened
so it was worth showing it to him.

The Crosses of Lafayette (my  home town, but not where I live now) was
started as a war protest and then  evolved into a war protest/memorial. When we
went I discovered many more crosses  had been "adopted." It commemorates the
fallen soldiers of Iraq, and now,  Afghanistan. If you want to know more,
google it.

As we were there two  more people came along to take pictures. It is right
across from a BART station  so many see it.

I found this one particularly  affecting.
