Honestly, I think the K1000 is over-rated, not under-rated.  Don't get me
wrong, I think it's a wonderful body, for what it was intended for, and for
the it's price when it was introduced.

But this whole "ideal student's camera" thing has it over-valued at the used
shops, on eBay, etc.  You can get an equivalent (maybe better?) camera for
less $$ if you want a used Spot - and then you get to use those wonderful
screwie Taks - or you can get a better camera with more features in the KM,
KX, MX, for the same or not much more $$.

Like I said, no knock on the K1000, but at it's current used price, I vote
over-rated...
