I think you've hit the nail on the head, John. Lakeshore Blvd., where this was shot, is Highway 2, formerly the main (and only) highway between Toronto and Hamilton, heading towards the Niagara Peninsula (and Falls) and the USA. Some 50 years ago they built the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW to the locals), a multi-lane limited access expressway. There used to be many such hotels along the Lakeshore, but they're almost all gone now, either abandoned shells or long since developed into condos. Thanks to everyone who commented. Glad you liked it. Personally, I thought what made the pic was the pickup truck, the tilted phone booth with the discarded pop can next to it and that glorious sign! ;-) cheers, frank -- "Sharpness is a bourgeois concept." -Henri Cartier-Bresson -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
