I was photographing a friend's party tonight, when my K-5 stopped taking pictures.
When I looked at the back, I got the "battery depleted" message, so I grabbed one of my spares. When I put it in, I got the same problem. I grabbed my other spare, and ran into the same problem again. This was rather distressing as I had made sure to top off at least one of the batteries before leaving. After leaving the camera off, while one of the batteries was in a third party charger, for a while, it started working. Now that I'm home, I realize that the charger was showing me the whole time that the battery was charged (green light, it turns out it shines red when the battery is dead). Not only that, but at least two of the batteries show that they were fully charged when I got home. One thing that may be relevant, or not, is that I had been shooting a performance, and when the card filled up, it seemed to take a *really* long time to write everything in the buffer to the card, which left me stuck there, not able to do *anything* while the big performance that the birthday girl, who had hired me, and practiced for months, was going on. -- Larry Colen [email protected] sent from i4est -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
