My understanding is that it has something to do with the codec. Anyway, it is a problem with the encoder that is being used by the external displayer. I'm not sure what the cure is, though apparently, people using Microsoft's Movie Maker that is shipping with Win Xp and onwards don't have this happening, so if you are using Windows, you might be able to re encode it using that program.

Or something.
