Has anyone else noticed this? You have a carefully set up shot. Carefully focus on the main subject, and take a series of pictures. For some reason, not explained, there appears to be no plane of clear focus. I don't mean that focus is off, but /nothing/ is in focus.

never remember seeing this before I shot digital. When I've missed focus I can usually tell where the plane of focus is, even if it's not where I wanted it. If a lens itself is soft it's consistently soft. Camera movement is usually apparent at the pixel level. This is just a general lack of an area of sharp focus, like a soft focus lens, but the bracketing images are exactly as expected. (I wish I had a sample but I deleted it without thinking).

I'm just wondering if anyone else has ever noticed this, and maybe has an explanation.

Don't lose heart! They might want to cut it out, and they'll want to avoid a
lengthily search.
