A delayed condolences on the demise of your FA50/1.4 It is always sad to lose a
trusted familiar companion like that.

Short summary: when you get your 55mm, you may still miss your old friend the
FA50, but you will love your new friend!

It happens that I just finished my Blurb book on my 2010 Costa Rica trip and,
moving on to my next To-Do, have re-started work on my Blurb for Rome 2009. I
hadn't remembered making this decision, but it seems that I did Rome all on
primes. I think I had one or two zooms with me as back-up just-in-case but LR
analysis of the metadata says it was all primes.

So, a week or so in Rome and 60+% of my images were with the DA*55/1.4, about
20% with DA21, most of the rest with the DA15 and a few DA100 macro. What got
me thinking about this is that, as I was going back through the images in LR, I
kept noticing shots with really nice color and sharpness and started thinking
about what lens was I using at the time. And DA*55 was the answer.
