As I have a number of wildflower photographs on line, I occasionally get
asked for permission to use some of them in various projects. Over the
years the projects have ranged from commercial books to (more commonly)
newsletters published by local special interest groups. If it's a
commercial project where the publisher expects or hopes to make money, I
ask a flat fee of $90 for non-exclusive use. In some cases I never hear
from the person again while others pay up without question and I'm quite
sure I could have asked for more. For non-commercial or educational
projects I just ask for acknowledgement. In both cases I supply a
high-res version suitable for printing.

Cheers
