His "compared to" section is a little silly. The cameras that he should be comparing it to are it's contemporary cameras with the same basic feature set, like the Olympus OM-1 and the Canon TX. No battery required to fire the shutter on either of those two either. (Probably others also, that I'm not as familiar with).
