That's quite a man-cave.  I assume the shelves are for tools that you'll never 
get the time to actually use :)

I heard the other day that our neighbour's garage has to be demolished due to 
quake damage [exactly what I don't know as it looks ok to me].  But... our 
properties have a river at the back and the rules have changed since 1965.  Now 
you're not allowed to build within 15 metres of the river, which is about 1 
metre behind the _front_ of the garage.

We haven't had our detailed inspection yet and I'm worried about what the 
inspectors will say about ours as it's built right next to theirs.  And it's 
developed a nasty tendency for quite a bit of water to seep in when it rains.  
I think it's getting in at the base of the wall.
