I know nothing about the Q, but IQ is not simply a function of the sensor. It includes the quality of the lens that is put on the front and the software that processes the signals that the sensor produces (to name just two). Pentax showed, beginning with the K-x, that they could take a Sony sensor, and make it outperform the same sensor in a Sony camera. They've clearly done it again, by all accounts, with the K-5. I have no idea who the Q is really being marketed at, but I have been pleasantly surprised by the image quality that I have seen (on the web) thus far. There is a Flickr group devoted to the Q, if anyone would like to keep up on their images/discussion: http://www.flickr.com/groups/pentax-q/ Darren Addy Kearney, Nebraska -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
