Check out the category list... my favorite is "Recently added"

Note that the categories in the cautionary prose differ slightly
from the actual checklist.

One good thing.. they added an "unknown" to the list of lenses
for those of us who would like to say..

"Don't remember at all. I had a bunch of lenses with me, and it was
freezing cold and the Yeti just came around the corner, and I was
shooting with film and I didn't have time to take notes,
thankyouverymuch. "

also I don't know how to answer any of the other questions because
I never learned the buzz words for any of these.

Exposure Bias (is this like the film is ISO 64 and I'm shooting at 100?)
Pretty much.

Exposure program: Whatever is in the camera ?
Shutter preferred, aperture preferred, program, manual, there are others
but who cares and who the hell takes notes after a while anyway?

Metering Mode : like Center weighted ?
Yea, my MZ and ZX cameras have Center Weighted, Spot and Pattern.

Scene capture type: huh? Is that something perculiar to digital?

A good number of film cameras from the later days have scene modes. I
ignore them.

Heck, just make stuff up, how about an LX with a SMC Pentax 300mm f1,8
lens, set to evaluative pattern metering, and hyper program.

Seems like most of that would be captured in the meta-data if you're shooting digital. You should only have to enter it if you're submitting film scans.

Plus, I think it would be pretty easy for them to institute a filter to eliminate the ridiculous.

LX = Film, and they're asking stupid questions. A filter that filled out the form with reasonable answers if you picked a film camera on the list would be fine, even welcome. I just like giving stupid answers to stupid questions.

So for example pick "LX" .

Picture mode should automatically say NA.

Exposure mode should default to something like unknown with options for manual and aperture priority.

Exposure pattern should default to center weighted with maybe the option of none if you used a hand held meter.

There is no exif data to read, but Pentax knows the capabilities of their film cameras, (If they don't they can always look them up on Boz's site), so a reasonable default value should always be available for each camera selected.

Don't lose heart! They might want to cut it out, and they'll want to avoid a
lengthily search.
