Here is what the PPG says: Your Photo Gallery > Understand the Submission Process
1. Your photo has been submitted to the PENTAX artist voting queue 2. Artists will approve or deny a photo, based upon technical proficiency and artistic concept, including compositions, color, subject & form 3. If your photo is generally liked and accepted by the community, it will be publicly displayed in the PENTAX Photo Gallery 4. If the image is in breach of the PENTAX Terms of Use, PENTAX reserves the right to remove the image at any time 5. On the artist dashboard, you can track an image through the submission process WHAT IS LEFT UNSAID: Are the "artists" who "approve or deny a photo" the same people as "the community" who can get your image into the gallery if they "generally" like and accept it? Is #3 a separate review in every case, before or after the "community" review, or is it just something that they reserve the right to exercise in extraordinary circumstances? It sounds like there is no review except the voting by the "community." If that is the case, however, how does one explain the fact that there are still some of my images "under review," even though the others submitted at the same time have been accepted or rejected? Should all the ones that enter the review process at one time finish at one time if the voting by the community is the only step?
