Hi Gary, The 90mm is closer to a 43mm in the 35mm format (it matches the diagonal of the 56x70 frame). I haven't taken many pictures with my 90 hand-held, but I once used the 165mm @ 1/125s with no problem. I think that using a speed of 1/60 shouldn't be a huge problem with the 90mm, unless you are very unstable when holding the camera (I have recently discovered that I'm not really good in holding light bodies firmly anymore: I shot a roll with my MX during Sunday and with the 135/3.5 my hands almost trembled all the time...).
