Yes, exactly.  No problem at all.

I have all of my "collections" grouped by year (others have different systems, 
I'm sure) so I can go and find the source of a particular web album in a jiffy. 
 An "I'd like a print of that" request for a 3-year-old image can be fulfilled 
with an exported image in just minutes.
