Pentax announced today on fb:
"The K-r digital SLR will be available soon exclusively on walmart.com
in limited edition pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, navy, metallic
brown, gold and silver. "
Interesting. At first glance, I thought maybe a promising step
towards getting Pentax stock into stores... but then I realized
"walmart.com"... Maybe not such a big deal after all. But, if they
have the Hello Kitty edition...

Pentax has been available through walmart.com for a while now. I
remember when I went to PentaxUSA's site right after the K7 came out and
followed the "where to buy" link it showed every Walmart and Sam's Club
in my area.
None of the Walmarts around here actually did stock it. I'm not a Sam's
Club member so I couldn't check them, but I don't expect they had it
either. But you could order the kit on-line from walmart.com
Quick check just now shows you can order either the K-5 with kit lens
for $1449.95 or K-5 body only for $1449.95 (that ain't a typo on my part).
They also offer the Optio WG-1 in purple or black, Optio H90 in black,
K-r in white or black and the Q w/standard prime in white.
As far as I can tell, none are available in stores; at least not in the
Raleigh, NC & surrounding area stores.
