Yes, AF on both.  It is tricky, especially on such small - and
fast-moving - points of focus. I can see that the AF grabbed onto the
collar, when I meant to grab the eye... but for me, I'm not that
confident manually focusing in this type of situation (see "small &
fast-moving", above), so I'm not sure I would have gotten better
results on my own.  :)  Funny,  I don't usually shoot these portraits
wide open like this -- I try to stop down just a bit to give myself a
little more leeway with the DOF.
Still, it's an interesting lesson, one I will file  away for next time
-- and an added benefit of these shoots.  Thanks!
