Well, here's a clue. Apparently nobody using the Pentax Photo Gallery web site can view my last submission. My last submission is the only one of my three that has been APPROVED. Therefore, it seems that artist voting is an OPTIONAL part of the process and I'm guessing that someone with approval privileges has direct access to the upload folder (or another alternative way of viewing images that no one else can see).
Frankly, I would guess that the images are vetted by Pentax(PhotoGallery) employees BEFORE they go to the "real" Artist Voting stack (to make sure that nothing objectionable makes it in, which could prove embarrassing to Pentax). I wonder how many photos of Nikon and Pentax cameras have been submitted - to name a relatively tame example.
