I suppose you could use leaked, if that definition includes "made up out
of whole cloth". It's possible that they stopped major production in
anticipation of a new camera release. However some level of production
must be continuing since the Japanese site still advertises multiple
color combination, which must be special ordered.

It is "officially discontinued" only according to Pentax Forums, so
the question would best be posed to them.
