It's just using a coat thrown over his head and camera to cut out
reflections from interior lights. A squashy rubber lens hood pushed up
against the glass would be another way.

I took this the former way(MX with SMC Pentax-M (probably) 50/1.4 a
few seconds at f/8 (again probably)
