Interesting, yes, but of only limited value because it just gives sound *levels* in dB. That doesn't tell you much because you don't know the frequency components of the sound output and this makes a *big* difference in how noticable the sound is. Given certain frequency components, a very quiet sound can stand out much more than a relatively loud sound. Think "fingernails on a black board" for an example.
