Thanks for the kind thoughts, Paul. It seems there were actually multiple quakes, one was a 6.0 and a bit closer. We were still in the car at the time so I had no idea of magnitude. This feels like echoes of June 13 when we had a very similar pair.
I'd probably be quite jumpy if I'd been home at the time. And I'd probably be in hospital if I'd been on the bike :) A radio news report says some power cuts, 19 minor injuries and some building collapses, no deaths reported so far (any known-dangerous buildings will have been closed off beforehand). Sounds like a lot of people are quite traumatised.
