It wouldn't seem to be that much work . . . 1. Use LR to select all images made with a given (misidentified) lens. 2. Rename those images so that you can 3. Sort your image files by name and isolate the offensive images. 4. Run a macro that iteratively applies whatever exif-modification tool you need to rewrite the Lens field. 5. Select those images in LR and rename them to their original name.
I am not sure about some of the details, but in concept it seems not too big an issue . . . I stand ready to receive bouquets or brickbats as appropriate. stan On Dec 30, 2011, at 5:35 PM, Igor Roshchin wrote: > > Brian, > Of course, that's doable, but it wouldn't make much sense -- too much > work for just aesthetics. > > I actually realized that what I wanted wouldn't be possible to do in LR. > I just didn't think thoroughly before asking the question in the first > place. > It is not LR that identifies the lens, but rather the camera body. > LR works with the lens name that is already recorded in EXIF. > Also, unfortunately, it doesn't have "conditional" metadata handling > (e.g. if lens' name is "A" change it to "B"). > > So, it would be the body firmware that would need to be patched, > and that is not going to happen. > > Oh, well... > > Igor > > Fri Dec 30 17:11:21 EST 2011 > Brian Walters wrote: > >> Well, I don't have Lightroom but could you use something like Exiftool >> or PhotoME to edit the exif data for the lens and then re-import the >> image into the LR database? > -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List [email protected] http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
