Subject: PESO - Stiff's-Eye View

A shot from the head of the table of the Anatomical Theater of the
University of Padua, first used in 1595, and the first in Europe.  It is
preserved but no longer in use.  In its heyday, hundreds of medical students
occupied the circular tiers above, leaning over to see the dissection.

(K-7, DA 16-45)

Dissection of cadavers was legal in the Republic of Venice, as long as the
remains were given a proper burial afterwards.
