I think I just figured out one reason why my iMac seems so much slower at processing photos. When I got it, I was processing 6MP K100 files that were 3-5MB, now I'm processing 15MP K-5 files that are 15-25MB. If it seems 1/2 to 1/3 as fast as it was, it's because it's processing 2-3 times more data.
