I was still using XP when I first got the K-5, and I immediately noticed a 
change in  Lightroom performance, but now with the new iMac, it's so much 
faster, but it still does take some time with the big K-5 files.  I seldom 
shoot jpeg.  Copying RAW files over is relatively quick; it's really the 
"rendering standard previews" that seems to take up most of the time.  But I 
just get the importing started, then go do something else--you know, 
multitasking :-)  Cheers, christine
