For all the examples of failures of socialized medicine I can point out more
failures of a so-called free market system, but what's the use?
The issue that Bob raised is whether seniors (so many of whom are on small

that they shouldn't have to.
There. Not arguing with anyone about it because no one will change my mind
about it.
Btw, Ann, glad things went as well as they did. Sounds like things are
treatable and that's gold.

YEs I'm greatly relieved. Was jsut startled at first lat week as I had
no clue I had anything amiss at all - except for a bit of cataract blur
and sensitivity to glare.

And here in Queensland one pensioner has waited 15 years for cataract surgery,
and has now
been told he is off the waiting list because his case is considered
"non-urgent". It took
him 9 years to even get on the list - now he has to find $4000 for private
treatment -
this from our "caring " Labor government...

But --
the diagnoses overall is that I really don't need a new prescription -
cataract surgery probably a year or more down the road, peripheral
vision not too bad. The glaucoma is Open Angle. Have to take drops
two times a day... Trusopt 5ml.
Dan - is that what you take?
Looks like it will cost $45 a month if I get it at K-mart If anyone
knows what Costco would charge it might be worth my joining
that sums up in one sentence why Europe is better than the USA. Over here
someone at your
time of life would not pay anything - I was quite shocked to read that sentence.
Still, I'm glad to hear that things aren't too bad for you.
