Thank you Dan for your comments & tying the picture to my text. The soil that tree is in is recycled mining land & the poor thing will be lucky to live. I predict slow growth or the big bulldozers will cast it aside. Which is one reason I grabbed the photo now.

I think the image conveys the feeling you describe very well.  The
shot will be more dramatic when that little tree grows just a bit
taller.
