I only recently began submitting a few more pics to PPG after taking several 
years off. However, I really didn't like those 600- pixel-tall images being 
upsized to 900-pixel-tall images by who knows what method. I looked at some and 
could see degradation. So rather than delete them all, I made new jpegs from 
the original hi-res images and uploaded them. Of course, I had only placed 
about 35 images prior to the site redesign. If I had 100, I might have said "to 
hell with it and taken them down."
