I just don't see the point of the K-01. I mean, how the hell are you
supposed to use it with anything longer than (say) 150mm lenses? With a
DSLR you brace the camera against your hand/head with the other had
holding the lens and elbow braced against the body. How are you meant to
hold all this away from your face while trying to compose??

This is my biggest concern with the LCD screen. That and since I hit 50 it's
very easy for things like LCD screens to fall in that magic range that are too
far for me to focus on without my glasses, and too near for me to focus on with
my glasses.

I wear varifocal glasses and have no difficulty seeing using an LCD
for focusing and framing.

I also wear varifocal glasses, often use my LCD/LV for focusing, and sometimes framing. Sometimes I have a challenge with it because, as I said, the working distance often falls into an awkward distance for me.

And of course the K-01 does support
autofocus AND image stabilization so with a change in how you handle
the camera, and some practice, you can do some amazing things with an
LCD viewfinder..

Yes, there are many times, as I've said, where an LCD viewfinder is the right tool for the job.

This is a camera designed for people who are used to taking photos with cell
phones.

That statement says more about your bias, Larry, than it does about
the camera or its intended audience.

In what way?

Did you see the interview where it was said that the target audience was designers? I can't find the actual quote, but I do specifically remember that the designer did not say "This is a camera designed for professional photographers, and the members of the PDML".

Are the ergonomics not a lot closer to those of a cell phone camera, or a low end point and shoot? Are not most photos taken these days with an LCD display, on a cell phone, held at arms length?
