Not to butt in here, but I was just thinking (don't worry, no one was hurt)
about your light painting work and wondering if you'd ever co-opted any of your
martial arts friends/acquaintances to work with you on a project along those
lines. Seems like there'd be some potential for interesting shots if you could
figure out a way to incorporate a bo staff or just about any other type of
martial arts weapon with the light source.
Not yet. but it could be fun.
An idea I had years ago when I first saw someone spinning fire is that it would
be cool to build a staff with colored LEDs along the length, and position
sensors in the tips, and a receiver in it to control the LEDs, so that as it
spun through space a computer could control what lights were on, and the lights
could define three dimensional shapes.

Sounds like a good bit of work, but a worthwhile long-term project. I'd
