That's precisely what I plan to do, Steve. Based on how it felt turning the aperture ring, I thought that would probably be a good idea. It's just balky enough at f/8 to make me want to not use it unless absolutely necessary -- in which case, I have an M and a K 50mm if I should decide I need to dust off the K1000 for whatever reason.
