Colin, *both* shots have a quite distinct greenish cast. Are you
shooting a grey card and doing WB correction? The simplest, fastest
and cheapest solution.

The 50/2.8 wins that shootout hands-down. Nice detail! Not just your
little black spots, but the entire image is clearer.

At what aperture were these shot?
