ACTUALLY .. ooops didnt mean to shout...
I discovered that there was a shape that was close to it in my Elements stash - has rounded corners but a tail on it, that I chopped off..
worked like a charm - it was one of those little cartoon bubble ones.

But your method worked also... thank you!

oddly, the rectangular tool only comes up there and not in the "shape" section on top.

thanks!

This works in PSE6, not sure about PSE5.

Counting the foreground/background color selection, look for the fourth
item up from the bottom of the toolbar. Mouse over it and hold the left
button down, you should get a flyout menu of several shapes to select.
One of them should be the rounded rectangle. Alternately, hit the "U"
letter to select the shape tool - each time you press "U" it will select
a different shape.

alas, elements 5.0 only has rectangle and elipse that I can see.
wonder if there is a way to bring it in.

It's exactly what I'd like
I was trying to avoid inventing one with typefaces but I could do it in
a pinch (no pun)

Hi Ann

Quoting Ann Sanfedele <[email protected]>:

Or - possibly under the texts...

anyone know if there is a frame or a "shape' or a wingding that

is an rectangular outline with rounded edges? e.g. Like the road signs
that say Keep left, keep right, etc.

I'm working on an idea for a shirt I browsed what I have in elements 5
but haven't found one yet...

Here's one method using the rounded rectangle tool:

I'm not sure if that tool is in Elements.
