And yes . . . a Promaster. Some seem to think it's a re-badged Tamron,
and it does bear a striking resemblance:

I wasn't crazy about it after I first got it, but it seems to be a much
better match for the K100D than the K-x. And it takes surprisingly sharp
images.
How does it do as far as "lens creep"?
The one Tamron lens I have (28-200) is really sloppy and creeps either
out or in unless it is held perfectly level.
