Thanks, J.C.

And yes . . . a Promaster. Some seem to think it's a re-badged Tamron,
and it does bear a striking resemblance:

I wasn't crazy about it after I first got it, but it seems to be a much
better match for the K100D than the K-x. And it takes surprisingly sharp
images.

How does it do as far as "lens creep"?

The one Tamron lens I have (28-200) is really sloppy and creeps either out or in unless it is held perfectly level.

No creep at all -- at least not that I've noticed. I don't use it nearly as much as I thought I would when I first bought it. But, I can't recall it ever being a problem when I have used it and it's a pretty snug zoom. My biggest gripe is that it has a pretty noisy motor, and there seems to be a hint of a yellow color cast, but nothing overwhelming. In this particular photo, there was a hint of some purple fringing, but I've gotten MUCH worse with some of my other lenses.

For the dough I paid for it -- right at $120.00 as I recall -- it's a good lens. I've just fallen in love with my manual primes since then.
