I've been trying to figure out an answer to this since yesterday. My comparison is printing 6x7 negatives on the big enlarger, using the Componon 150mm, and the Fuji and Rodenstock 90mm lenses. Obviously, there are already some differences. The Componon seems to give better tonality than the Rodenstock or Fujinon. I get the same tonal range, but I get a much softer palette of tonality with the Componon, I suppose I am getting greater image depth with the Componon. Detail is as good with all three lenses. Also, the Componon is probably 40 years old. I am not using a modern Componon S. William Robb - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
