This is a small thing, but has anyone else noticed that the A design,
rear lens caps don't hold up as well over time as the old K versions. I
have a number of both, and just about all of the A versions have become
so loose that they fall off in a photo bag, sometimes they fall off when
I pick a lens off the shelf. The K version, which unfortunately doesn't
protect the A contacts seems to last a whole lot longer. In fact I've
even had a couple of A rear lens caps simply break apart. This wouldn't
be so bad except that they are no longer supplied with most lenses, The
last couple of new lenses I bought came with the cheap push on soft
plastic caps that used to be reserved for the Takumar Bayonet third tier
lenses. I had to pay extra for the A bayonet version and they're just crap.

Well that's it I just had to rant. I spent the last 15 minutes trying
to find three good A rear lens caps that wouldn't fall off the lenses I
plan on taking with me tomorrow.

and in conclusion I'd just like to say... You kids get off my lawn!

They made some for a while that looked like a top hat that seem to stay on quite well. I keep an eye out for them at flea markets & camera stores.
