Quoting Walt Gilbert <[email protected]>:

Hi all,

Well, it was a rainy most of the day, so I didn't stray too far from the front porch. I did manage to get in a few shots during the breaks, and took advantage of the alcove I used to sit in for my bird photos until a storm blew down the tree that I used for the backdrop. Seems there's a blockage in the gutter that causes the water to spill over the side, creating some neat patterns in the falling water when the rain gets particularly heavy. I used a combination of the K-x, the A-50/1.7 and my Promaster 70-300 to get a mix of shots.

Here they be:

Unfortunately, I forgot to set my white balance and didn't change out to my 18-55 kit lens before shooting the last two shots. So, they're not as good as I'd hoped they'd be. Also, I was shooting in a hurry, so they just didn't turn out as well as I'd have liked them to. It really was a beautiful sight at the time, but you really had to be there.

It looks as if the last two were DNGs so can't just change the white balance in Lightroom or whatever raw processor you're using? Congrats on the sale, by the way.

I especially like these two:

* IMGP5881-1 - might be worth playing around with different crops to focus more attention on the bird.

* IMGP5924-1
