I don't see much justification for calling her excuse "lame." Bad guys don't exactly announce themselves as such. Paul Bernardo was a model Joe Blow citizen, and the 9/11 hijackers were evidently good enough to pass as such. I don't agree with what the cops did in taking the film, and I think that the police often overstep their boundaries, but I don't see why someone taking pictures of a sensitive site and then lying about their motivation for doing so wouldn't be cause for some concern.
